Camping Weekend Update

Waltham Chase Camping Weekend

STOP PRESS:

Worries from earlier in the week regarding dust problems are no longe an issue - it's not all bad news!

FYI = There is no water on site -  Pop into Tesco's and buy some on the way. ( well there may be some water........

Some help to mark out on Friday evening and Saturday morning appreciated. I'm peeling onioms.

The plan for the camping weekend!

But not necessarily what will actually happen.

The venue: Cadnam Lane, Cadnam.

Leave the M27 at Junction 1

Join the A31 (Romsey Rd).

Leave the A31 at the junction for Newbridge (Look out for TRIAL sign post which will be on your left.)

Load post code SO40 2NU into your sat nav. from this point – but not before -as you will be taken the wrong way.

Drive through Newbridge village, bearing to the left and then turn left into Cadnam Lane. (Look out for TRIAL sign post).

Drive along Cadnam Lane for about half a mile and look out again for the TRIAL sign on the right hand side of the lane.

Pass through gate and drive straight on. (Gate will be unlocked)

Please close the gate behind you to keep the Forest Ponies out of the camping field

The Campsite opens from 3.00pm on Friday the 27th and closes at 5.00pm on Sunday29th.

Toilets are on site from Friday afternoon. There are no showers – but we are all in this together so not a problem!

Note: We are not insured to ride bikes before 12.00 on Saturday.

Saturday Trial – Youth and Wobblers Trial starts at 1.00, with practise from 12.00

Sunday Trial – A Club Championship Trial starts at 10.30

We do need some volunteer “Observers” – please help if you can.

Visitors and non campers are welcome to ride in either Trial.

Catering:  Sam’s catering van will be on site on Saturday from 11.00 am to 4.00pm, and from 8.00 am to 3.30 pm on the Sunday. Please support Sam and buy your breakfasts on Sunday, much less trouble than bringing your own cooking kit.

The BBQ: Tony and Gary (T&G to their close friends) will be cooking, burgers, sausages and jackets with salads from 7.00pm on Saturday.  The Page family have organised a new BBQ as the old one fell apart after a heavy 2013 session.

John D has organised the beer. Please bring your own glasses, wine and soft drinks.

We have a marquee type tent thingy for the evening – but may need some help getting it put up.

A sing song around the campfire is compulsory. If you can play a musical instrument bring it along and entertain us.

Don’t forget the marshmallows

A few ground rules:

There must be absolutely no riding in the parking, camping and lake area.
