Event Reminder – Next Sunday. 7th June.

The Chase Trophy Trial

This Open To Centre Trial is being held at Limekiln Lane, Ramsdean, a great venue we only use once a year.

The Trial includes Round 6 of the Club Championship, so there are points as well as awards to collect.

The Chase Trophy was originally held at this venue, in the valley behind Butser Hill some fifty years ago.

For this trial we really do need at least four or five Observers with bikes to ride to the distant sections.

An offer to be “Back-Marker” would also be appreciated.

Being an  “Open” Trial all Observers receive £20.00 expenses plus a lunch voucher.

Entry is via the link: https://acu.sport80.com/public/wizard/e/207608

As always please contact the Club via email – walthamchasetrials@outlook.com if you can help. Do not reply to this email, it is a “deliver only account”.

Trials Rules Clarification

For all Waltham Chase Trials , except The Keith Marshall Classic, the Club apply the ACU Rule TSR22A Stop Allowed.

One element of the rule is: “A Failure occurs when a machine moves backwards.”

At Club Trial level this is the rule we apply. There are various  FIM and a Trial GB rules that do not currently apply to Club Trials, also including “Stalling.”

When and if rules change we will confirm and update in any Final Instructions.

We do not need any more complications, just straightforward Trials!

Observers

The “Observers” make our “Trials” happen – they are the most important people at our events.

It is a challenge before every Trial to find enough volunteers, and we are currently eight short for next Sunday. The “shout out” starts today!

We already have some “partners” who will not Observe as a result of past rider abuse.

If you have issues with any  score please note:

“A rider may politely query their score with the Observer or and should not challenge or intimidate the observer in any way and should address any dispute with the COC”

ACU Rule TSR - Going Home Early applies for any non-compliance.

Environmental Mats

This “Trial GB” rule is just for your info and is not currently enforced at Club level, however if you think about it we took over some “Horses Field” and they are possibly not too keen on any spillage. It will apply at Club Trials eventually.

All riders must use an environmental protection mat for their bike whilst in the paddock which should be no less than 2m x 1m. This is to offer a barrier against oil and fuel spillage, ensuring a clean and safe environment during competition and maintenance. A penalty fine of £50 will be imposed for breach of this rule.

New Forest Off Road can supply if you want to get ahead of the game!

Sidecars

There is much talk locally about Side Car Trials; The Club Committee will be discussing at their next meeting on Wednesday 10th June. If you have any thoughts catch up with John Denham, “Head of Three Wheels Development” before the 10th.

Next Practice Day

We will confirm our next Practice Date later this week.

A reminder that at least until the end of 2026 all Youth Practice sessions are FOC for Waltham Chase Members.
