Practice Trial – Oakridge 24th October

Our next Practice Day for both Solo Riders and Sidecars is being held at Oakridge Copse, Alderbury on Saturday 24th October – this Weekend.

There will  marked sections plus areas for free-style practice.

Entry for adults is £15.00 with no charge made for our Youth Members.

This is the ideal session for complete beginners, with our Club Coach, Ian Bird, on site offering support to new members.

Shane Babey is the COC for this practice day.

Please note: There are no toilets or Catering Van at this event.

Charity Trial - Saturday 7th November at Hut Hill

The annual Waltham Chase charity trial is being held on Saturday 7th November in support of Prostate Cancer UK. 

The entry for this Trial is limited to 80 riders. Book early to secure your place for what is more than just a Saturday “Trial” at Hut Hill.

Rember to bring some cash for the raffle and cakes.

Club AGM

The minutes from the AGM are now uploaded to the Waltham Chase FB Page and the Club Website. These minutes give members visibility of what we do and who does what. Well worth a read!

AGM Highlights

50/50 Classification

We will be adding 50/50 classes  to all Trials in 2027 except the Summer Series, which will be marked out sympathetically to enable riders to “go up a class”.

Sidecars

We will be adding a Side Car Class to the 2027 Summer Series.

Observers

More offers to Observe are needed and will be appreciated, we have looked at options including “doubling up” and a “rider ballot” at the start, but we really just need volunteers. 

One turn a year is all that is needed from each member, a friend or family member, to cover all sections at every Trial.

Just to clarify, the minimum age for an Observer is 12. There has been some recent published confusion.

Debs Food Truck

You may be aware that “Debs Food Truck” is giving up trading  as from the end of the year, and before we start looking for a new caterer is there any ambitious person who would like to set up a catering business? Full training would be provided.

The “Truck” has been MOT tested this week.

ACU Southern Centre 2026 Trials Championship

The Final Championship standings are now uploaded to the ACU Southern Centre FB page

The results for each round can be found at the bottom of the sheet.

Congratulations to the Waltham Chase award winners, who will be invited to the Centre Awards Presentation being held on Saturday 27th February in Otterbourne.

Full details will be published in December.

Plans for the 2027 Centre Trials Championship are well under way, with the Centre Clubs having provided dates for a 10 round series. The final dates will be published next month after any final calendar adjustments have been made.
