Waltham Chase News Update – May 5th.
The George Greenland Trophy Trial (Centre Championship) –Sunday 9th May
This trial is fully booked.
A reminder that spectators, other than family members travelling with a rider are currently not able to attend. These restrictions are due to change in mid-May.
Oakridge Practice Trial - Sunday 16th May (11.00 -3.00)
Now live on the ACU Website, but with limited places available.
These sessions are just like a “Trial” but without scoring. The ideal events for newcomers or for just trying out the bike.
Cadnam Camping Rally with Practice and a Trial 22nd and 23rd May.
There are still a few camping pitches available and places for the Practice Trial on the Saturday and Club Trial on the Sunday. You do not have to camp to ride.
Details are on the website. All bookings, including camping and fishing are via the ACU portal.
Hut Hill Practice Trials
Friday 28th May – 5.00pm – Places available.
Saturday 29th May – 11.00am. – Limited places available.
Club Trial at Treefields Farm – Saturday 12th June.
Prior to this Trial taking place we need to have a cutting out session and will ask for volunteers. This is a great venue, close to Bishops Waltham, that we have not been able to use for two years. Full details next week when date for cutting out will be confirmed.
The Hobnail Trophy Trial – Manor Farm, Langrish,27th June
This trial was due to “open” for booking on the ACU Portal on 5th May. Due to a delay with Permit issues, it will now open on Monday 10th May at 8.00pm. (Permits are now being issued by the Centre instead of Rugby, but there has been a delay in the switch over.
Despite the delay, this is one more step back to normality.)
The Keith Marshall – Woodberry Lane, Rowlands Castle - 4th July.
This is a Pre-65 and Twin Shock Round of the Southern Centre Championship, with additional non-championship classes for Air Cooled Mono’s, Rigids and over 60’s on modern machines.
As with the Hobnail the permit has been delayed, with entries now opening on Wednesday 12th May at 8.00pm.
Membership Cards
We have run out of Membership Cards! Due to lock down we have not gone to the printer to reorder. But panic ye not, in these days of online activity a membership card is not a “must have”. You cannot book a ride unless you belong to an affiliated Club.
Membership cards were usually left at home or lost in the wallets – do we really need them?
