News Update 24th September

Covid Update

So far-so good; it looks like we are still able to run events despite the additional national restrictions put in place.

There are requirements to maintain the “rule of six” and wear face coverings when queuing for food and when in pit areas. Full details will be available on the ACU Website.

The published statement is “it will still be possible for larger groups to take part in organised sports outdoors” – so it is business “near to normal” until we are advised otherwise.

But it is easy to forget what is going on in the world when you are having fun in the woods – so let us keep sensible and safe to secure the future of our sport.

The John Wright Trophy Trial (Open To Centre)

This is an adult only trial. There is no “A” route due to the nature of the venue, however expert riders are welcome to ride in the Intermediate class. There will be a Catering Van at this Trial.

AGM 2020

The Clubs AGM will be postponed until such time that we can organise a meeting with more than six people. We will carry on running “as we are” for the time being, but we welcome the help and support of all members. If you have any suggestions or comments please advise and if you would like to help with marking out etc please get in touch.

Spectators

A reminder that casual spectators are not permitted to attend any Waltham Chase events for the time being. Family members and those from your “social bubble” may travel to an event in the same vehicle as a competitor, as can two guardians for each youth rider. With the benefit of the online entry system we can trace all who have attended an event, including caterers, photographers, and observers. There will be “No Spectator” signs at the entrance for all events and gates will be closed after all competitors are booked in

It is tough to turn newcomers away, but it is important that we all keep safe.

Mike Wiseman
