News Update - 16 September

The Summer Series

The final round of the Summer Series was held last Saturday at Hut Hill. Thanks to all who took part in the series and all that helped to run the Trials. We are planning to run this popular event again in 2027.

The championship was reduced to five rounds due to the addition of a Youth Trial added to the calendar which sadly never took place to a lack of entries.

The final results and Championship Standings are now uploaded to the Club Website in the Results Section.

Our Next Trial - The "Keith Marshall"

Manor Farm, Langrish, on Sunday 4th October

This is a round of the ACU Southern Centre Classic Sammy Miller Championship, with classes for Pre67, Twin Shock and Air Cooled Mono's.

In addition to the Championship classes we have added B,C and D classes for modern machines on a no award basis.

The Trial will be marked out to suit the “Classics”.

If you are entering on a modern bike you may have an easier, but very enjoyable ride at this superb venue.

The inclusion of an “uninspected section”, a graded climb and a special test will add additional interest to the Trial.

This will be our last event at Langrish this year so come along and enjoy the ride, along with outstanding countryside views and a coffee and Burger from Deb’s Food Truck. A nice day out

Offers to Observe are appreciated, with £20.00 expenses plus lunch provided.

Please book your section by email – walthamchasetrials@outlook.com

Note: For this Trial , “Non-Stop” rules apply.

The Club AGM – Thursday 15th October

Information regarding the AGM was published last week, however one item on the agenda you may want to think about is the recruitment of a couple of additional COC’s.

The Club currently has a good team of helpers but is mindful that we need to prepare for the future and get new volunteers on board, not necessarily to run Trials in 2027, but to shadow experienced COC’s.

A COC Seminar is being held in Otterbourne on Saturday 5th December. Please get in touch if you are interested via the Club email.

Hut Hill Fencing Day – Saturday 17th October

The Grey Team will be carrying out some urgent fencing repairs at Hut Hill on Saturday 17th October and would welcome a couple of hours help from additional volunteers. Catch up with Trevor Gatrell, John Denham or Jim Gray if you can help.

Members Practice Day – 24th October at Oakridge Copse

At the request of our members, we have added another Practice Day to our calendar at Oakridge Copse on Saturday 24th October.

These events are ideal for newcomers and riders looking for a gentle days sport – nothing too challenging.

Adults £15.00  and Youth Members no charge.
