Waltham Chase News Update

 After a busy July we have a three-week break before our Cadno Two Day Trial on the 16th and 17th August. Full details are posted below.

 It should be a great weekend, with 30 pitches already allocated and over 50 guests booked for the Saturday evening entertainment.

There is still space available – we can fit you all in somewhere.

The Geoff Chandler Trophy Trial

We are holding “The Geoff Chandler” at Ham Lane Langrish on Sunday 31st August. This is a round of the ACU Southern Centre Trials Championship, but will have classes and routes for all riders, except for Youth E.

Offers to observe appreciated and essential for this trial. £20.00 expenses and lunch provided.

There will be a shout out for volunteers to help with some cutting out the week before – look out for the email!

We have the “Grey Team, but some of us find the steep banks at Ham Lane a challenge, not so much going down, but getting back up!

 

Camping and Club Social Weekend

Waltham Chase MCC will be holding an up to five-day Members camping break, suitable for Tents, Campervans, Motorhomes and Caravans at Cadnam near Southampton from Wednesday 13th August through to Sunday 17th August.

All pitches must be pre-booked in line with our Natural England Camping Permit

Round 5 of the Club Summer Series is being held on the Saturday with Round 6 of the Club Championship being held on the Sunday. Start time is 11.00 am on both days.

Debs Food Truck will be on site on Saturday and Sunday serving breakfasts and refreshments throughout the day.

After the Saturday Trial there will be family activities in the arena (A field with some tape around it!)

And then on the Saturday evening there will be an organised “Hidden Hog Rost” with the usual extras and child Hot Dog” option, served in “The Barn”, with Bingo and live entertainment from the local band Random Cow with vocalist Ria.

There may even be a barrel of cheap beer!

The charge for camping on the Saturday, which includes the BBQ is £20.00 per person (Under 14’s free).

The charge for camping for additional nights is £10.00 per pitch.

Day riders and all Club members, who are not camping, are very welcome to join us for the activities and evening entertainment at a charge of £10.00 per person

Club Members can camp without entering a Trial, or for those just wishing to ride there is no requirement to camp.

The event is held under Natural England regulations which requires campers to be Club Members.

The Campsite and Barn have flush toilets. There are no showers.

Being within the National Park there are some rules we need to comply with:

Correct unit spacing, dogs on leads, no open fires, BBQs off the ground, no loud music in the camp site and the general “Quiet Time” is after 11.00pm.

All Saturday evening guests do need to join the activities in “The Barn”
