The Dick Hoyles
Our Next Trial at Hut Hill is the “Dick Hoyles”, being held on Wednesday 31st December, with a start time of 10.00am.

Round 1 - 2026 Club Championship – 25th January
And then we start it all over again with our first trial of 2026 at Hut Hill, Round 1 of the Club Championship.

Rider Numbers
Just a reminder – when you enter a Waltham Chase Trial on Sport 80 please add your Club Rider Number to the field “Event Specific Information”. If you don’t someone else has to do it!
You can use this “box” for any other messages, such as class upgrades etc.
Awards Presentation
Tickets for the Awards Presentation will be live on Sport80 next week.
All qualifying members will be sent a winners notification after the final round of the Club Championship, with Dick Hoyles award winners being notified early in January.
If we do not receive a reply from an award winner we do not order an award to save on waste.
Most know if they are up for an award and many just come fort the party!
The Committee have been finalising some details including pricing for the Presentation, and sadly things aren’t cheap these days, but the Club and Southern Centre do support the Awards Presentation financially.
Annual Awards
“It’s the most terrible time of the year” – gathering up the perpetuals and allocating the awards to a new owner – but I do quite enjoy the challenge.
The chase has now started to recover the annual awards presented in February this year. If you have one of these trophies or shields can you please bring it along to any of the upcoming Trials.
They are all about the Clubs history – some are now over 40 years old.
Waltham Chase Bike Number Cards
If you need a Rider Number Card for your bike please request from Sally Garland by email : sallygarland@sky.com
Number cards will be available to collect at the next Hut Hill Trial.
Personal Accident Cover
I have been asked by several riders what the details are for the Personal Accident Cover included in your 2026 Licence Fee:
In summary: Essentially the changes to insurance mean that every event held under the ACU is held on Premier insurance so no basic permits. Personal accident cover for riders is the death benefit to your loved ones in the event of that occurring and the hospital benefit which is paid now after 72hrs in hospital at a daily rate, whereas before it was a payment after 14 days in hospital. This will result in a large number of riders getting support which they wouldn't have got on the old scheme.
I have also been asked “ if I have an ACU Licence am I covered at all Trials”. No. The cover is only applicable when riding in an ACU permitted event.
Officials get the same full cover as before, as listed in the insurance section of the handbook.
Mick Noyce Funeral Notification

The family of Michael James Noyce invites you to join them in remembering and celebrating his life at a funeral service on Tuesday 30th December at 12pm, at Test Valley Crematorium, Ridge Lane, Romsey, Hampshire, SO51 6AB, and afterwards at the Red Rover, Southampton Road, West Wellow, SO51 6BW.
As this is a celebration of his life, black is not required.
We request no flowers, but donations to Dementia UK are welcome.
