The Cadno Weekend
That’s Cadno all over for another year. Check out the various write ups and images on FB which tell the story of a great sporting and social weekend.
Thanks to all who made it happen.
Same again next year?
Results And Championship Standings
The results for both Cadno Weekend Trials are now uploaded to the Club website.
The updated Club Championship and Summer Series “Standings” are also uploaded to the Results section.
Its calculator time for some members as there are various “awards possibilities” in both Championships.
Don’t forget that “the dropped rounds” rule can make a difference.
Alisia Robinson Coaching
Alisia held two Coaching Sessions at Cadno on the Friday of the Camping Weekend, with some smiling faces from young, and not so young, trainees at the end of the day.
All went well and we are planning to hold more sessions later in the year. Look out for details and dates and let me know if you are interested in booking a place.
The Geoff Chandler Trophy Trial – Sunday 23rd August.
(A round of the ACU Southern Centre Trials Championship)
Venue Change
The Geoff Chandler Trophy Trial has been moved “across the road” to Ham Lane, Langrish from the original venue of Manor Farm.
This follows a site inspection, where the grazing downland was found to be in a very poor condition and had not recovered from previous Trials.
Ham Lane is a barren venue, not used for agricultural purposes, with a varied selection of downland and woodland sections.
The trial will be set out to match the entry, with the A & B routes being suitably challenging for a Centre Round, with the C & D rotes at Club Trial level, the benefit of Sport80, you know your customers in advance!
Entry is via the link: https://acu.sport80.com/public/wizard/e/208164
The entry will close at 4pm on Saturday 22nd August.
Debs catering van will be open early for breakfasts and refreshments throughout the day.
We had some concerns about the venue being a little dusty. That problem has gone away!
STOP PRESS: Help Please. We still need either four or six more Observers – the number of sections we mark out depends on having enough Observers to observe them – Thanks.
Members Only Practice Day
This was not a planned event, but we need to be at Hut Hill on Saturday 5th September, so we have added an extra Practice Day to the club calendar suitable for both solos and sidecars.
The venue will be open from 10.00am through to 3.00 pm
Adults £15.00 – Youth Club Members are FOC.
Entry Link: https://acu.sport80.com/wizard/event/208276/stage/8205/home
Sorry – there is no “On the Day” entry – We need to know who is attending.
Summer Series – Round 5
The final round of the Summer Series is being held at Hut Hill on Saturday 12th September.
Offers to observe appreciated, please email walthamchasetrials@outlook.com if you are available.
Entry is via the link: https://acu.sport80.com/wizard/event/208248/home
Debs will attend subject to a minimum entry of 40 riders.
Club Website – Gallery
If you have an hour to spend on a wet evening, pour your self a glass of wine and visit the two new Waltham Chase club website gallery tabs, “Club History”, and the “Best of 2025”, now added to the Club Website.
To save clicking through the 250 pages you can view as a slide show.
An interesting read and view – enjoy.
Thanks to Andy Withers for compiling the documents and images.
Observers Coaching Session
We are planning to hold an Observers Coaching Day at Hut Hill in September or October, possibly in conjunction with a Practice Day.
If you would like to become more involved and help with Observing please let any Committee Member know and we will get you “trained”.
The ACU Southern Centre Autum Classic Series
If you ride a Pre67, Twin Shock, ACM or Rigid bike you really should be entering the first round of the Classic Series, The Phil Mellers, being hosted by Fareham and District MCC on Sunday 30th August at Granstone Pits.
There are awards for each round plus Championship winners.
Entry is online via Sport80 , or if you have problems entering contact Mandy Frearson on 01428 683812 or by email frearson898@btinternet.com
The ACU Southern Centre are promoting the series and funding awards in conjunction with individual round sponsors.
